Woman Owned Business

Candace Richmond

I wanted to reach out to the many friends I have made in the cleaning service industry. I have found that this is a sector that has been open to women everywhere. While women are more prevalent in the residential cleaning, I see more than a few women and husband and wife owners in the commercial side as well.

As we reach our twentieth year of operation, I feel that I have built more than a working relationship with our GVI membership firms. I have built friendships that have never seen my face.

Despite the economic headwinds, the Green Clean Institute still promotes a Green agenda that starts with the workers who are on the front lines of the service.

When the workforce is part of the program, there is more than promotional value to your Green cleaning advertising.

Big Factors for a Green Cleaning service:

  • Trained and certified workers, including the management

  • A careful selection of cleaning products, sprays, and polishes

  • Moving to more efficient tools that can reduce product

  • Sanitizing with eco-safe products

  • Always use HEPA vacuums

  • Upgrade soft and hard floor care programs

We cover a lot more than thee items, but it is surprising how quickly the Green cleaning agenda fades with staff changes, change in ownership, a pandemic, and now a labor shortage.

We invite residential and commercial cleaning services to earn their GCI Green firm certification before 2022. If you take the step to participate, we will include your company in our $10,000 cryptocurrency giveaway.
