Greetings and Sanitations!
My name is Jess Baidwan and I am the Custodial and EVS Technician Supervisor for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in Southwest Colorado. I wanted to share our experience with the EVS training program.
I wish to start by saying that I was not compensated in any way to share my thoughts with you and do so openly and honestly.
Darrel Hicks and Dave Thompson are dedicated to this “War” – and to this important curriculum to empower “front line workers” with the know how to get their job done right, to enhance and support initiatives such ISSA-CIMS, LEED, GCI Green Certifications and the like. While the video segments are honestly a work in progress, the content is “on Target” and clear – even for those team members for whom English is a second language.
Ask yourself these questions:
- How about building an effective and confident EVS staff?
- How about having them educated to the same level as top tier Hospitals, Clinics and Trauma Centers around North America, and even the World?
- How about a step by step program that is a breeze to implement and ready to use?
- How about Excellent value because the ROI is immediate, even when your staff is only part way through the training?
- How about better results and safer spaces and a confidence that grows at every level because there is proficiency from your “frontline crew”?
- How about it?
Today is not too late to start! “Don’t lose the battle, win the war – against the spread!”
I have no regrets in our investment in the EVS Technician Course.
My team is well trained, confident and have the deep understanding that they know what they are doing, and are happier for it! GCI and the EVS Technician course are a big part of that.
How about letting it work for you, your team, and your organization?
How about now?

Members of our team recently participated in several professional development courses sponsored by GCI, presented at GEM Supply. We were greatly impressed with Dave’s professionalism and expertise in the field of environmental health.
Our personnel acquired invaluable information on best practices, materials and processes, and methodologies pursuant to effectively implementing green cleaning technologies.
Consequently, we are better able to provide a healthier environment for our customers, as well as, a safer workplace for our employees. We look forward to future educational opportunities with GCI. It just makes sense!

As a Gold EHS Executive going on my third year and being a part of GCI for almost five it is so great to see where our industry has come. This is my twenty fifth year as a custodian for RPS. As I look back I can see how much more my current staff’s knowledge is compared to past, as well as my own. It’s also great to see staff be able to inform other staff members and students about what we do, and why we do it.
The GCI EHS program allows for so many benchmarks at so many different levels. It allows you set goals for the future. It also gives you the knowledge to keep your facility and staff current and healthy. It also gives you the tools to make good sound decisions on writing procedures and purchasing future equipment. You can’t put a dollar amount on the benefits of knowledge and how you decide to use it.
In my years of using GCI we have more data to improved productivity without sacrificing quality. We have been able to reallocate our resources. Our staff has more knowledge at their fingertips than ever before thru CEU’s. All of this combined allows you to really think outside the box when it comes to facility management. It has been great to be a part of the total re-evolution of custodial support services over the years. I could not have accomplished what I have without the GCI assets.

At first I was a little apprehensive about spending 3 days learning about cleaning especially since I have been in the cleaning industry for 43 years! However, I went in with a very open mind and came out with a mind full of new knowledge and a completely new opinion and insight regarding Green Cleaning!
At the end of the first day, I had knowledge I didn’t have before walking in. Dave opened up my mind and put in an abundance of positive thoughts and ideas not only on Green Cleaning but also different ways to market the concept and products related to a green program. By the end of the third day, I had sales copy for a project I am working on.
I say the following with no exceptions or reservations. All of your team members should go through Dave’s Master Certification class, as it will not only help in the sales of your ideas, operation and or program, but it will make them better staff members by having a better outlook on the future of the Jan/San industry!
