First Municipality to Earn GOLD

The City of Columbia, Missouri has now advanced their GCI certification status from Silver to Gold level.  In doing so, the City of Columbia has become the first municipality in the U.S. to earn this level of distinction.

"As a Missouri based organization, it gives me great pleasure to be able to present this level of our certification to the City of Columbia."

Over the last 3 years, staff members of the City of Columbia Public Works department has taken GCI professional development CEU courses to maintain their Silver level of certification.  This year, Tammy Thomas and her team have been challenged by the GCI implementation of education, products and practices affecting in positive ways, the indoor environment of the Daniel Boone Building located at 701 E. Broadway, in beautiful downtown Columbia, Missouri.

City Hall and this Environmental Health Services team has met the 350 point requirement to earn the GOLD EHS certification.  We proudly raise them up and challenge others to join them.
