Green Janitorial

The Green Janitorial Checklist ...

I have been asked to put together a definitive list of Green items that every Green janitorial service should supply.  These are all sorts of opinions out there, but when you boil it down, there are a number of crucial elements that you will find in the best Green janitorial services and often lacking in most janitorial programs.

The trouble is that there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY for Green claims today, and if a company painted it vehicles green, it could claim to be Green too!  Without a standard, the most flimsy claims have the same public opportunity as the best Green company.  It just isn't fair!

So, I have spent many hours laying out a clear and coherent outline of what it takes to be a truly Green janitorial service.  When I look around, I find that many of the self-appointed Green janitorial services wouldn't even rate a 50% level of compliance.  But, when you read the list, it is obvious that we are not asking for the impossible ... just an honest effort that is more than tokenism.

All GCI Gold Certifications are given this extra training and evaluated for their ability to offer quality Green services.

We Encourage all Businesses to include the Model Green Practices Clause in their RFPs:

Our company/school/organization participates in a Green Practices agenda understanding that the growing federal, state, and municipal regulations will require greater levels of Green practices and products. A Green Program is understood to be the use of Green products and Green practices by those who service the facilities of this school/office/building.

"In harmony with the Green Practices Initiative, we (require/prefer/desire) that all bids submitted include the use of Green Products and Green Clean Certification of the workers involved from a bona fide source. Green Clean Certification training can be found on the Internet. Green Practices is understood as training of the workforce concerning basic Green Clean standards of practice."

In compliance with the Green Supply Chain program and the EPA's "Environmentally Preferred Purchasing" initiative, we strongly suggest that you encourage vendors and suppliers to work on Green Business Certification as well.  As a Green business certified firm, insisting on Green certified vendors is basic Green ethics.

Going Green should also open new doors for any business since more and more companies are interested and even demanding Green services to complete the Supply and Demand of the Green marketplace.  Earning a Green Business certification should NEVER be an Internet sign-on project where compliance is little more than paying a fee and little else.  The Green Business League offers the only audited, reputable, and nationally recognized certification in America.

There are three volumes of material used during our study, and this is a very information rich program that will provide you with the knowledge, training, and guidance needed to fulfill your role as a GBL Certified Green Consultant™.  The Green Business League, Inc is a separate entity and not part of the Green Clean Institute, Inc.
